Lifeless Evening

In landscape photography, weather is one of the most frustrating aspects it doesn’t even have to come down to rain or shine, but just a small amount of clouds in the right place at the right time of day can make for an amazing sunset and then those same clouds in the wrong place at that very same moment can make for a complete non-sunset.

In this case, the clouds was at the wrong place! Well, that’s one of the risk in landscape photography. Sometimes it turns out good, sometimes not. You just have to take the risk!

Lost In The Haze

Hello everyone .. As we all know the weather in KL on this few weeks are very bad .. Fully covered with hazy which will do no good if hunting for sunrise or sunset ..

Last week I go to Pantai Remis beach with my girlfriend to try my luck for some seascape and sunset shots.. But luck isn’t at my side because the sun is playing hide and seek behind the clouds .. Although the weather was very bad, luckily the tide was high on that evening .. So what I did is I play with long exposure shots in monochrome .. That is the only way I know to escape this hazy condition .. So here’s one of the picture that I manage to capture on that day .. I use the Hitech Pro Stop 10 ND filter for longer exposure time to blur out the water ..

After finish shooting, we went for ikan bakar at Medan Ikan Bakar Jeram .. The ikan bakar there was very delicious ..

The Old Wooden Jetty

This is my recent work from an outing with a group call Art of Nature at Teluk Bahang, Penang.

At the time we arrive to the location, not much colors on the sky, almost colorless, then I decide to go for a monochrome shot on camera and longer exposure to create dramatic photo.

It was a good outing session and it is nice to meet new friends, which some I already know from Facebook, but never met on the real world. Unfortunately for all of us, the magic hours didn’t come out on that day.

Amazing Terengganu, MY

I miss Terengganu, I miss their beautiful beaches. This is the second and the last place that I manage to stop by in my last visit. I don’t know this beach name, it was alongside the road while we going back to Kuala Lumpur.

I wish I had more time to take pictures around this amazing place. Perhaps I will go there again just for taking pictures. Insya’Allah..

The Right Path

This is my first time visiting Terengganu. Really excited but time does not allow me to visit more places. Only stop by at 2 spots. Surely will go there again in the future. InsyaAllah..

So here’s one of the shot, taken at the Tengku Tengah Zaharah Mosque @ Floating Mosque. I used B+W 10 stops filter and Cokin ND Grad for this shot. Minor editing in post-processing.

Dreamy dusk of Batu Ferringhi

This is my first black and white photo on Flickr. Decided to do so because Black and White photo can create some dreamy mood effect with the long exposures of the blurring water.

Details: A single shot of RAW file, attach with B+W ND1000. Shot in Aperture-Priority mode, F11 at 160s ISO200.

Tech spech: The RAW file processed in DPP and transfered into Photoshop to convert the photo into black and white. A little tweak adjustment with the levels, curves, and some dodging. Finally the photo were add to Dynamic Photo HDR and I use the Pseudo HDR feature to make a single HDR image.
