Milky Way Panorama at Lumut, Perak

Salam and good evening everyone. Just to share another shot from Lumut visit on last weekend. After having our dinner, me and my friend Badrul decide to go out to hunt milky since the sky is clear. But we don’t know where to find dark places that have no light pollution so we just drove and around 20 km from Lumut town, we found a small road that is totally dark. I can say there is a thousand stars or maybe more that night! It is really beautiful :)

Oh, for your info the pano was generated from 6 vertical images that been stitched in Photoshop. Hope you guys like it and feel free to share! :)

Dreamy Dusk at Marina Island, Lumut, Perak

Assalamualaikum, peace be upon all of you. It’s been a while since my last blog post now, been quite busy living life and travelling here and there. Earlier this year I’ve went to Sabah two times for photography trip, but still finding times to writes-up and share with you guys. But I thought I just do a short one on my recent trip to Lumut, Perak.

The main purpose of our trip to Lumut is to attend our friend’s wedding ceremony. It was a beautiful wedding reception, the food was nice so do the people.

Later in the evening, we went to Marina Island for sunset shooting. That place is so crowded in the evening! We even clash with lots of wedding and portrait photographers there. Enough with bumbling, here’s my sunset shot from Marina Island!

Hope you guys like it and thanks for reading! :)

Arise of Tanjung Jara

Assalamualaikum and good day everyone! It’s been a while since my last blog post. Been very busy with work and living life to the fullest! Anyway, I just got back from Terengganu last weekend. Before going, I have checked the weather forecast and it says on both day is raining with thunderstorm. I decided why not I try my luck and headed to Terengganu with a friend of mine, Syafiqjay. Our first pit stop for sunrise hunting is at the beach near Kemaman. The session was joined by another three photographers, Mr Kamrul, Mr Syam & Mr Fahmi. But luck was not on our side as it was raining all the time and the sky is totally washed out. So we decided to call it a day and go for breakfast. After that, it was raining all the way from morning until the night.

On the next morning, I woke up around 5.30 and texted Fahmi to try my luck again. Alhamdulillah, the weather was great that morning but it was really windy. We decided to go to Tanjung Jara beach at Dungun for sunrise hunting. We had to walked about 10 minutes along the beach to get to the rocky spot at the shoreline. I was like running to get there when I saw the beautiful sunrise starting to appear from the horizon! All praises to the Almighty Allah SWT, it turns out the sunrise that morning was truly amazing. I managed to get the shot that I want and here’s the first one. I present to you, the Arise of Tanjung Jara!

Hope you guys like it and feel free to share! If you have time, do like my photography page Fakrul Jamil Photography. Thanks in advance for your warm support on my work. :)

Enchanted

Assalamualaikum and very good morning everyone! Yesterday while I was on my way back to my hometown Kedah, I drop by at Penang to hunt for some sunset at Teluk Bayu. Last time I was here is in February 2011, it’s like 2 years back and this is my second time here thanks to Bangpit a.k.a Raytec Crew for taking me to this place. I wouldn’t be here if I was alone because I couldn’t remember the route! :P  Also met some new friends there because they were also shooting the sunset at the same spot.

The magic colors did not appear yesterday because the sun was hidden behind the thick clouds as it reach the horizon. Only some of it’s yellow-orange colors and thanks to Singh-Ray reverse grad, it add some spice to the shot because of it’s cast. But one thing I was lucky because the tide is rising and I manage to catch some of the waves motion by using the 3 Stop Lee Pro Glass ND.

Hope you guys like the shot, happy holiday!

The Guardians

Peace be upon all of you, good evening and salam jumuah mubarokah. Here is my next photo from last weekend amazing sunset at Pantai Kelanang, Banting and its in landscape mode which mean wider view! Oh yes, another big fallen dead trees as the foreground interest, because I try to make it different. Before this, I always wanted a clean and neat compo for my shot, but that day I just decided to try something new and here’s the result!

I was lucky to get the right timing of the tide. It was rising but not that fast and thanks to Lee filter Pro Glass ND 3 stop, I was able to get the smoothness in the water part. The beautiful sunset colors was starting to appear at this time and it was really magical! I was like keep on saying alhamdulillah, thank you Allah for giving me this magnificent sunset on that evening, syukur! :)

Some info about the photo, a single RAW shot taken with Singh-Ray 3 stop reverse grad and lee 3 stop pro glass nd. Shot was processed in Canon Digital Professional for the raw file, then the file transferred into photoshop. In photoshop I increase the brightness on the tree part, because it was a bit dark on the original file. Other than that, basic enhancement as always to make the picture look more alive. :)

I hope you guys like this shot as much as I do! Feel free to hit the share button :)

Boom!

Assalamualaikum and good evening everyone. Last Sunday went to Pantai Kelanang again for sunset hunting with my usual partner in crime, Shazral. The weather has been great since morning and that tells me it going to be a great sunset. Guess what, my instinct is right! It’s was totally a ‘boom’ sunset! The amazing colors come out right after the sun has fully set. Alhamdulillah, finally I managed to get a beautiful sunset shot at Pantai Kelanang. Thank you Allah for blessing us with this magnificent sunset!

This is a single shot taken with Singh-Ray 3 stop reverse graduated neutral density filter along with Lee 3 stop pro glass neutral density filter.

In My Dream

Assalamualaikum and good evening everyone! Happy new year 2013! Here’s my first blog post, another photo from monsoon seascape hunting with super friends on last December. This shot is taken at Kemasik, a perfect place for seascape lover like myself. As we all know, on monsoon season the waves were pretty strong. If you look at the water here, I only used a 5 seconds of exposure is enough to make the water look kinda dreamy. If you use long exposure that too long for example like 30 seconds or more, you will make the water look really white and for me I just don’t like it.

So remember, if the waves were strong a shutter speed around 5 seconds to 15 seconds is enough to blur out all the water. Nevertheless, it still depend on yourself, because its your photo you decide how you want it to be! The most important thing is, enjoy the moment! :)

Hope you guys like it! Have a great day :)
